The main central section of the Fillan has a variety of water to challenge the angler. There are fast boulder strewn runs, shallow clear gravel pools and runs along with some deeper clear holding areas. It is a good walk from Kirkton Bridge down stream to Inverhaggernie Weir then try your luck going back upstream with a single dry fly. Stalking rising Trout can be fun and satisfying but they are not easily fooled. This area called Ewich after the B & B , which can't be seen, and is peaceful and almost idyllic. Other wild life abounds along this section.
