The River Tummel joins the River Tay about a mile below Logierait and anglers should be aware, that not just the increase in volume of water, but the sudden change in flow can happen as a result of Generation at the Pitlochry Dam, or that water has been let go from the dam for other reasons. Permits for the River Tay differ from those required for the River Tummel. The river in this beat is of gravel bottom with good runs to fish over either from wading or the bank. Perth and District Permits apply to the West bank and either Kinnaird or Dunkeld and Birnam Permits for the East bank. Grayling fishing is also available during the Winter months.
