Rising beyond Amulree, the River Braan is both scenic and challenging. This tributary of the Tay has a good population of wild Brown Trout and is mainly covered by Permits from Dunkeld and Birnam Angling Club. However around Amulree permits are from the estate Keeper's Cottage. The gorge section is difficult to fish but upstream and down stream access can be made with reasonable ease. There are tree lined banks but wading is fine in most beats.
