The estuary is prime Winter Coarse Fishing water for Pike both from the bank down stream from the Boat House and from anchored boats. Care must be taken when negotiating the water on the West of the main channel as there can be additional snags brought down by Winter floods. Float fishing with dead bait is the prefered method as ledgering tends to get caught up on sunken branches. Spinning with suitable lures also can produce sensational takes. The South shore line down to Firbush is another favourite area with some good fish being tempted. The West shore line has some deep holding spots and with care and experiance these can be very productive. Please note that there is no Coarse Fishing during April and care must be taken during frosty conditions. Permits are obtained from News First in Killin.
