A Loch Tay
Fly fishing is promoted although other legal methods are allowed and are listed on the permits. Typically good solid wild trout are about three quarters of a pound although some in recent years have been taken at over 7lbs. The normal traditional loch flys do well and some of the modern mini lures have produced some fine catches. Size limit and condition apply all over the loch and barbless hooks are now normal rather than the exception. Like all large lochs the weather can change and boat anglers must be aware of changing conditions and take appropriate action.
