The River Tay at this point is wide with deep pools and gravel runs which can be safely waded at certain heights of the river. Where the river flows away from the left hand bank there is good fly water leading into deep slow pools. The right hand bank is not so easily accessed unless use can be made of the beat boat via the ghillie or wading over part of the low water gravel runs. Attention must be paid to the river level marker since the level can rise sharply and with out notice. The late afternoon and evening are good fishing times with a team of wet flys. Permits are from the leasee or the fishing hut.
